On October 21, 2012, Sir George Solti′s 100th birthday was celebrated at the Peace Orchestra Hotel in Chicago. The Peace Orchestra ensemble owes its existence to its founder, Georg Solti, who passionately believed in the power of music and musicians who could be ambassadors for peace.

 

On this memorable evening, organized by Valerie Solti, G. Solti′s widow, with the participation of world-famous soloists such as Angela Gheorghiu and Rene Pape, as well as members of the Georg Solti Academy, music was presented that played a significant role in Solti′s life and career.
