[カラヤン生誕111年・没後30年特別企画 カラヤンの遺産BDシリーズ] その卓越した音楽性とカリスマ性で20世紀クラシック界に君臨した大指揮者ヘルベルト・フォン・カラヤン。カラヤンが晩年の1980年代に精力的に取り組んだ、「カラヤンの遺産 (レガシー)」シリーズの中から、1985年11月24日に本拠地ベルリンのフィルハーモニーで行われた、"万霊節"メモリアル・コンサートのライヴ映像作品。晩年のカラヤンは、ブルックナーの作品に深い共感を感じ、事あるごとにコンサートで取り上げて来た。カラヤンはこのブルックナーの未完の交響曲を、60年代と70年代にそれぞれスタジオ録音しているが、80年代を迎え、円熟の指揮者とオーケストラが繰り広げる"枯淡の境地"が見事に結晶した美しい演奏として結実した。ベルリン・フィルの演奏も素晴らしいの一言に尽きる。まさしく巨匠の遺産に相応しい作品。収録: 1985年11月24日 ベルリン、フィルハーモニー (ライヴ) ※LD用マスターよりアップコンバートによるBlu-ray Disc化。※音源はb-sharpによるリマスター音源を使用 (予定)。
