[カラヤン生誕111年・没後30年特別企画 カラヤンの遺産BDシリーズ] その卓越した音楽性とカリスマ性で20世紀クラシック界に君臨した大指揮者ヘルベルト・フォン・カラヤン。カラヤンが晩年の1980年代に精力的に取り組んだ、「カラヤンの遺産」シリーズから円熟期のカラヤン&ベルリン・フィル伝説の1984年の大阪ライヴ、遂にブルー・レイ化。モーツァルトのディヴェルティメント第15番は、ベルリン・フィルの弦楽アンサンブルの極致を示す名演奏で、特に第4楽章の美しさは絶品と褒め称えられた。R,シュトラウスの「ドン・ファン」では豪華絢爛の管弦楽の音絵巻を見事に描き出し、レスピーギの「ローマの松」ではベルリン・フィルの金管セクションが炸裂、ダイナミックな演奏で聴き手を圧倒する圧巻の演奏が繰り広げられた。最円熟期のカラヤン&ベルリン・フィルの至芸が刻印された永久保存の映像作品。収録: 1984年10月18日 ザ・シンフォニー・ホール、大阪 (ライヴ) ※DVD用マスターよりアップコンバートによるBlu-ray Disc化。
